No offence to your friend Ryu, but violators often don't tell the full truth about what exactly happened.
And indeed your other friend wasn't allowed on, simply because there was too much risk of a banned member returning that way.
It's also a bad idea to create accounts for others, let them do it themselves.
If they do not have internet access, then I don't see the point for them to have an Elftown account.
If they do, then I don't see why you have to do it for them.

I'm not sure how we're insanely strict or have lightened up. In the end there are only two rules: Don't be an asshole and make your own art. I don't think that's unfair for an art community to ask of its members :)

I'd like to reply to some of the things said though:
Freedom of speech these days seems to mean the freedom to be an asshole just because you can.
The anonymosity on the internet inspires people to be utter bastards to other people, which they wouldn't do (as much) in the real world.
Your profile is pretty anonymous and somewhat typical in that sense. It's almost as if you do not want personal information used against you, but you don't mind doing it to others.
But that's just a theory of course :)

Everyone is dependant upon others for validation to some level, because humans are social beings. Pretending you're entirely not is either a grave lie, or means you have an anti-social disorder of some kind.

Yes, I am human. I enjoy compliments, encouragement, and social interaction just as much as the next carbon-based sack of water and guts. But, flying off the handle and screaming to the guards because someone laughed at what you said is completely overdoing it. How these people function in society I'll never know. And if someone isn't independent enough to cope with life when things aren't all candy and sprinkles and someone didn't give them a gold star for being "such a special person", then they're exactly what I said when I went on the little name-calling spree :P And that's when you have a problem.
Alright... I'll step off the copyright and cyber-bullying thing for now. (Can't think up any good replies lol) However, I still think it's a huge stretch to say that lampooning something that was said is "bullying." And my thoughts on that come partly from a "Quit being a pansy" standpoint, but also a "It's ok to laugh at yourself" standpoint.
